Music in the winter forest
Resting Roses

First fall snow
falls peppermint
in late October,
soft on slender fingers,
crimson nails strumming
strings,
silken threads of
silvery blue steel,
singing solos that,
come December,
hungry deer,
motionless in breaths of misty white
and timeless stillness,
will hear echo...
echo...
echo...

Floating ghostly,
between sentries
silent in frozen linen,
lonesome notes
blend with scent
of resting roses,
teasing senses
with sweet sounding
cold.

Crystal slices,
Spring's  sunlight
tenderly touches
icy    motionless    music,
melting,
feeding kaleidoscopes anew.

Listen closely
with your eyes

Oh!
Smell the stars.
