Marriage and relationships: The ups and downs (Not Dom.Viol)
Welcome to the Relationship/Marriage Folder

Some poems you will find here deal with experience in my own marriage (ten years and counting). There is little black and white in a marriage, just many, many shades of gray (and some other colors too). I've tried to capture these subtle emotions of a relationship.

Some poems come from my frequent contact with women who are survivors of domestic abuse or currently in the midst of these relationships. While this is not my personal history, I cannot help but hear and understand some of what these people are going through.

Some poems are a mixture of truth, fiction, and a tad of personal experience with a little mythology thrown in at times. In a relationship, there's one person's truth, the other person's truth, the truth as it appears to onlookers and family, and then there's the real stuff only the fly on the wall sees. I want to hear what the fly has to say. Then, this is what I want to write.

I hope one of these poems helps someone give their partner another chance (or NOT in the case of domestic abuse) or at least will give some perspective from the fly on the wall.
