Progress is subjective.
He stared up at the glittering tower. It was a majestic modern construct, rising high into the sky and dominating the landscape. He then looked to the land around the monolith, which had been leveled, paved, and completely given over to the casino.

Gazing longingly at the open sky, he recalled a time when their land was more important than their profit. But the natural beauty that once surrounded their home had now been pushed to the farthest reaches of the reservation, replaced by ever-growing, ever-increasing modern marvels.

The proud Native American man stood alone, longing for the past.
