Moments like these are part of what makes up life.
Fluttering lightly on invisible strings,
The butterfly floated up the steps of the bus.
It was captivating and
If it hadn't been moving,
I'd have thought it was an intricate painting.
I was intrigued at where it might be headed.
It delicately settled itself in the seat beside me,
And I couldn't help but smile.

I watched it the entire time.
It quivered from the vibrations of the bus,
But never moved. It had chosen its seat.
I began to suspect that perhaps we were
Some sort of long lost friends;
Riding side by side.
Sharing each other's lives for ten minutes.

It's almost as if an invisible force
Had brought the two of us together.
As I took a look out the window,
At the passing scenery,
I thought to myself: 'How beautiful life can be!'
With a goofy sort of smile,
I turned back to my new friend..

Mr. Zelner sat down.
