We will quit this world one day. Why be attached to it?
DON'T BE ATTACHED: a sonnet

Should I worry that one day I will go,
Never to come back to my kith and kin?
Should I future anxiety today show
About dead silence, that will then begin.

Shall I be separated from my spouse
Of twenty five years whom I love so well?
And also from my son, my job, my house,
In which I quite comfortably do dwell?

My part they are, so much I love them all.
But one day I will lose them without fail.
I must accept the writing on the wall.
Over the destiny I can’t prevail.

It’s better to be wise, not be attached
To what one day will be surely detached.
