..on the second day of Fall....
Did I pass too quickly
through that magic time,
when first I loved you,
on the second day of Fall?

You came too dearly
in my wise possession,
when I needed you
on my grown - up way.

What I will miss
my heart aches to remember.
Yet even memory, will
be a tragedy for my mind.

If only I had wished
for some encounter sleek,
or descreet, to care less about,
before I loved you.

Now I wait for night to fall,
and rest on pillows
where the sleep of dreams
is dusted with your passing.
