modern poetry
If someone calls you in to
Sing songs;
You have a part.
Apprenticed to the leads,
You're in with the tenor lead in a song.
Every time he plays you for a song,
You sing one.
He can walk you on.
You're not in the chorus.

Back to the poets;
Wait
For the singer
To show up.
Turn pages,
What a role.
Join,
Already recorded.
Sing other styles.

Sing shows;
Best to start out with,
Because it's all decided behind you.
You have both cultures.
You can go out for
Who's with who.
Go on and
Mesh.
Preclude
Each other;
Pleased about it.
