She is lost as the calendar pages turn, trying to find the answer to her life.
Lost, adrift in a sea of azure eyes,
you draw me in, ship to a flashing light.
Promises of passion, breathtaking sin.
I will slip this skin to become
the fantasy woman you invited in.

Traveling rough miles to get here,
feet bleeding, callus worn,
heart both tattered and torn.
Are you the answer to my rest?
The King of Hearts in the Gypsy cards.

My heavy cost is overwhelming.
Where goes an endangered soul?
A ship on seas with ghostly crew?
Someone please stitch my heart,
Repair me. They never do.

I will try to be content for a while
as your wandering woman child.
You promise to keep looking for me,
together we will search the graves
for a woman called Antoniette Teche'.

How long will the clock have to tick?
The calendar pages turning,
years flying, never knowing who I am.
A soul died looking for eternal rest,
the tomb calling my name. I can't hear?
