A thoughts of a parted soul, grieving for her spouse.
Parting
Neither you nor anyone can tell,
One had to go when darkness fell,
Lying beneath the earth I wonder,
Who takes care of you?
In lonely times and days through,
Hadn't we promised never to part?
I cheated must you think, cold at heart,
I walked away, never to return,
Never to share a dawn or setting sun,
Leaving you with a bundle of cares,
Grieving and lone, in an empty home,
Did I choose, I could not tell,
Leave I had to when darkness fell,
Lying beneath a heap of autumn fruit,
I ache to think and see too,
Walking by the riverside a lonely you,
Hands in pocked, eyes down cast,
Misty must they be, lost in thoughts of me,
Walking amongst the trees,
You missed the chirping,
Of the birds and life around you,
Seeming sad and pensive too,
For I feel the pain, of parting with you,
Think not I cheated, I had little choice,
Grieve not for me for I had to part,
With an aching soul and heavy heart,
Neither you nor anyone can tell,
One had to go when darkness fell,
Seasons will come, and spring too,
Remember me with joy,
Live on for all will heal,
Look for me in the stars,
In beauty, life or blooming flowers,
Look down and you'll know,
A little flicker and a glow,
In the depths of your heart,
I live in your soul, never to part.
