We traced different colors when we wrote
In books.
A welcome change from travel.
Buying German toys for the ride.
Buying English language books to read where we could find them.
One month to recover
From the journey.
The street was dusty.

Traveling during the summers;
Looking out at the Danube and a passenger boat traveling by;
A circular staircase, the gift of a birthday cake;
An enameled medallion;
A ferry ride across the Danube.

We leave very early in the morning.
By late afternoon, he'll arrive in a coat.
He has dark hair.
We'll follow him down the hall to his office.
He'll talk to us for awhile.
Then he'll walk us to the door, and we'll leave.
