Reaching for Heaven

When I Win

I want to win, First place to be.
Not the last one standing, Let it not be me.
If war comes tomorrow, Let me fall in my place
When I win,
Let there be a smile on my face.

I want to win, In the eyes of God.
Stand before the gates, as they open wide.
Let all before me, see that I was not of Sin,
As I bear my sole to all who judged me,
When I win.

I want to win,not a ribbon or star.
Nor a gold medal or a fat check or a car.
I want only to know, I have the right to fly,
To lift my sole to thy heavens,
When I win,
I want for all to know, I am free when I die....
