Evangeline was sent to marry a prince, but she starts a love affair with his brother.
Footsteps sounded loudly as a young woman walked down the dark hallway. She looked ahead of herself and held a candle holder in her hand; the flame of the candle threatning to go out at any second.
"Evangaline!" A whispered voice said. The young woman sharply turned around and narrowed her eyes at who dared interrupt her hasty walk. "What are you doing out here in the middle of the night?" An old woman came up to Evangeline and wrapped her shawl tightly around herself. "What would your father say if he caught you out here?"
"My father wouldn't say anything because he is probably too occupied with his new wife in bed." Evangeline said, a little too sharply.
"Don't speak about your father like that, girl." The old woman says. "He'll have your tongue cut off, even if you are his daughter." Evangeline didn't say anything, just continued to glare at the woman. "Anyway, what are you doing out here in the hall instead of in bed?" The woman's tone softened.
"I couldn't sleep, Mrs. Probshire. So I went riding on my horse." Mrs. Probshire clicked her tongue.
"Why would you do that? You don't know what's lurking in the shadows at night. You're father does have enemies, you know." Evangeline sighed and shook her head.
"Well, nothing got me, so you don't have anything to worry about. I was just hurrying to get to bed before someone saw me. Apparently, I was too late."
"Well, just get to bed now. Off with you." Mrs. Probshire waved her hands as if she was sweeping away Evangeline. Evangeline quickly turned around and made her way to her room, and shut the door. She laid in her bed, and as she did, she wondered if the old maid was going to tell her father about her late night rides.

It's pretty short, but I'm just getting started with it.
