How many husbands wash out braziers? Read to find why.
D cups dangling from the clothesline

He washes her best brazier by hand,
squeezing soap between his fingers,
he figures this is what she'd want,
hangs her D cups pin by pin.

Ecru lace embraces breezes,
waves between blue shirts and blouses,
parentheses that bracket cloud and sunshine,
D cups dangling from the clotheslines.

The pets are fed, the children too;
the house swept clean from stem to stern,
he makes the bed; there's shopping to do
as D cups dry beneath the moon.

She'll return tomorrow from the hospice,
one breast less, her wig askew;
the house is ready, nothing to do,
but take down D cups from the clothesline.
