A Saraband Sonnet
The scorching sun beat down on them
as wilted tourists sought relief
in waves that sparkled like a gem.

Two people came together there
to frolic in the cooling spray,
and very soon became aware
of hot romantic sparks at play.

He whispered words of sweet allure,
and took her hand in his to lead
her down the path of love so pure.

With lightning flashing in the night,
a raging storm of passion blew
away all thoughts of caution’s light,
to consummate their love’s debut.
