Choosing between a poet and a lawyer.
A MAIDEN’S DILEMMA

Two young men are dating me,
A lawyer, a poet.
I don’t know which one to choose,
Whom to trust, not to trust.

The poet day-dreams while the
Lawyer is suspicious.
He thinks that the poet’s thoughts
Are simply fictitious.

The poet is passionate,
The lawyer ludicrous.
Conscious of hourly fees,
He makes his dates a fuss.

Shall I choose the poet then?
He’ll write me love sonnets.
No, the lawyer shall I choose;
He’ll give diamond lockets.
