How far would you go to keep your lover? written for contest
BETRAYAL

My fickle friend, I now perceive
The webs of darkness that you weave.
You played your nasty little game.
You told me that you had no claim.
You said she meant nothing to you.
You lied! I know that isn’t true!
I was sent pictures. Meant to shock.
Images of you in the lock…
Of each other’s wanton embrace,
Breathless passion lighting her face.
I told her that my love was strong.
That you played games. That you were wrong.
She’s made her choice, that choice is me.
I told her you were dead, you see!
I loved you dearly as a friend.
I love her more, your life must end!
