He's hungry for another victim...
A chill ran down my spine as I watched the horrific scene unfold before my very eyes...

The angry slash of teeth.
The intense ruby colored liquid pouring into his mouth.
The complete abandonment the assailant clearly felt.
The hunger that seemed insatiable.

Why such anger?
Why such crazed, desperate acts?
Why did he seem to depend solely on this particular victim?

I watched in shock; total aw seemed to wash over me as I watched him.

The liquid ceased to come forth.
He tore at it in frustration, demanding more.
His victim fell to the ground slowly, riding the air waves as it cascaded downward.

The dark eyes of the assassin fell to me now.

Why?

He moved towards me, my heart racing, threatening to burst from the confinements of my ribcage.
I could not look away; his unwavering dark gaze held mine threateningly.
He stopped, inches from me.

He grinned; a row of red stained teeth appeared through his lips.
A red rim was visible around those lips; lips that had just mutilated his victim.
His mouth began forming words, capturing my attention.

"Mommy, can I have another Popsicle now?"
