Poetry on children growing up, on their own, worry - frustration about their chosen path.
Footprints On My Heart
By
Richard Vance

The years have passed
And outwardly, you stand alone…
So strong.
So independent.
Listening to drum-beats only you can hear;
Taking paths that lead you on your way,
Both far and near.
But please remember that in all your days,
A part of me will always walk along,
And I will feel your happiness,
And I will feel your pain,
My love remains…
And like a rock, I’ll try to be,
Forever standing here
With outstretched arms,
That try and catch you if you fall…
Collecting footprints that you
Leave upon my heart.
