Short piece about the meaning behing "love"
Love is nothing because it doesn’t exist. It is a cruel trick your heart plays on your mind. A four-letter word with no meaning made up of lies and deceit. It’s a fantasy world that the lucky live in. The word itself is over used and void of what it used to mean. If you’re lucky you don’t realize this. You float through life on a cloud that cushions your every experience with this thing called love. What about those of us without a cloud, the ones who stumble through life eventually scratched and bruised by love. What are you to tell them about true love? That there is some magical prince charming or sleeping beauty that will come along and save them from this harsh reality? I’ll keep my fingers crossed that some day I will run into the one girl that fits me like the final piece of my puzzle, but as for now I’m fine alone. I need no shoulder to cry on or person to pour my heart out to, because in this world love no longer truly exists. It is a fake since of comfort that we wrap ourselves in like a blanket on a cold winter night, a long dead end road of sorrow and regret. Love is dead.
