Life, it happens and so the circle of life continues. My first blog.
Children, friends, aquaintance's, Children, husband, brothers, Children, sisters, cousins, Children, aunts, uncles, mom, dad, inlaw's, Oh Yeah, did I mention Children? Seven to be exact. I am the blessed mother. Not thee blessed mother, but I remember in my young life, raised Catholic, I wanted to be like the blessed mother, Mary. I ended up being more like the woman in the shoe who had so many children she didn't know what to do. Well, maybe I did know at times, but I sure needed a lot of help. Come to think of it, I had four miscarriages so eleven would have been the number. Heaven only knows what that would of looked like. It's all water over the bridge or dam or where ever the water feels like going. My life certainly hasn't been boring. Just when the season of it is getting easier, kids are grown, all but two live away from home. The married ones decided to procreate. Yep, the children's children have entered into the picture. Three to be exact with two more on the way. Oh what fun, I get to play patty cake again and again. Change more diapers, at least they are throw aways, and be called granny, mommom, grandmom, nanny or whatever suits the little darlings. What has brought on this circle of life, you may ask? Well, the year before, I was minding my own business, yeah I know my children are my business, thinking life is good. Three of them decided to get engaged. Now what are the odds of that happening, If you know, let me in on it. I can hear Forrest Gump and his infamous statement. Life is like a box of chocolate you never know what you're going to get. I should of just ate a piece of ex-lax at least I would of known that outcome. All kidding aside, my three lovely children, along with their fiances decided to get married in the same year. I suddenly wanted to be Rip Van Winkle and go to sleep for twenty years, but thats another story. The father of the bride movie ain't got anything on me. I was mother of the bride twice over and mother of the groom. April, August and September were rockin months for our family. Speaking of rocks, Maria and Dan were the first to get married, in April. Their wedding was in Arizona at Montezuma's Well National Park. Surrounded by desert and rocks, there was a beautiful oasis right in the middle of the park. Plants, grass and a small running stream accented the place and something I never saw before, Cottonwood trees. It was such a splendid sight, the cotton fell from the trees as the wedding took place, flowing softly in the air on the lovely couple and the guests. Now that memory will be a keeper. The other two weddings were just as lovely in their own way and made this momma very happy. Oh, there were times when I had senior moments and I got the wedding plans and the bridal showers mixed up. My daughter in law kellie, helped with keeping my head on straight when my brain connectors got somewhat confused. So , it's a wonderful life, love that movie too, even though I know I will be baby sitting for the rest of it, I truly love my children and their children and so on. I must say, I am fruitful and multiplying. That should make God happy. He's the one who started it. I just came along for the ride. lol lidi

Tonight I must get my beauty sleep. That will be a real challenge since I am a night owl. I like to be up when everyone has gone to bed. I find it to be my creative time, when my writing juices flow. Instead of a pen in my hand there will be diapers and bottles, goo-goo's and gaa-gaa's and whatever wants to come out of their sweet baby mouths. My only concern is will I have the energy to watch two newborns and a four year old. Juggling their feedings at the same time will be interesting. The four year old will get a crash course in changing diapers. When you ask him to throw one away, he holds his arm extended as far as he can away from himself. It is a comical sight. Well, I must retire now. 5:30am comes quickly. lidi

Welcome to the world Grandbabies! We have a new granddaughter. Haven't had one of those in the family for 26 years. Her name is Ella Pearl and she was born 10-5-08, 5lbs 11oz at birth. Today 5:33 am we have a new grandson. He is 7lbs born today 11-7-2008. His name is talen Michael and He looks just like his grandpa. Smaller features of course. Got the phone call 4:20 am and they didn't have anytime to stop and drop off their 10 and 3 year old cause the baby wasn't waiting. When my daughter in law arrived at the hospital they checked her and she was already 9 cn dialated. Thats what I call fast delivery. Everyone is doing fine and you know this grandmom is happy to be fussing over her grandbabies. lidi

Yesterday I came home from the hospital. 11 days of poking, pinching, waking, and I have to say some great care from the nurses and alot of prayers from family and friends. My toe, the fourth one to be exact, has been giving me some problems and being diabetic it was the infection that went wild. There were talks from the doctors that the toe should be amputated. Well, I am thankful to let you know it is still on my foot. I have many days of antibiotics to take through a pic line. I have a wound vacuum to clean and mend the open area on my toe. So here I am resting and these extra little things coming out of my body. They are attached to me, how long, I do not know but my toe is still in tacked and I am going to do what I need to to keep it there. So that's the story morning glory. I Need to go my brain is fuzzy from the medicine. Thanks for reading my life's unexpected turn. Hmmm I wonder what is around the next corner. lidi

huh? What are you saying? I don't know what is going on! Lately, when my husband and I are talking, we are not making any sense to each other. I know that cliche, men are from Mars and women are from Venus, but we seem to be light years away. We are not on the same line, page, chapter or book. It doesn't help when we make comments, such as, you are getting old or you're loosing it. From my point of view he appears to be confused and not connecting thoughts as we are discussing simple family matters. From his point of view, well, who knows. When the light finally goes on and he gets it, he slighly turns it around like it was me having the thought problems. Ok, maybe we are thinking on a different wave length and this will soon pass. My children who are listening at times, make the comment, what are you two talking about, like we are both nuts. We are over the hill in our mid fifties. No one said anything about another hill over the hill, but then we never asked either. I think we will be alright. I just need to be calm and not let it bother me. If I find the shaving creme in the frig and the whip creme in the medicine cabinet, that could be cause for alarm. I am sure we have plenty to look forward to in our golden years. You know, come to think of it, earth is between Venus and Mars. We both need to come down to earth and be on the same planet. Yes, thats it, how simple was that. lol lidi
