Is Alzheimer's affecting someone you know? Please read...
An Insidious Disease...

My mother is here, but gone;
Her bright, gleaming eyes now drawn.
As memories fade -
No more can be made.
Alas, they are long foregone…

Insidious, this disease;
With such unrelenting ease
It grips at the heart
And tears it apart
With nothing that can appease.

So tragic is life, these days;
To know this is not a phase.
There’s no coming back
This vicious attack
Leaves snarls within her daze.

Dark shadows obscure her light;
She lives in forever’s night.
She can’t understand
What life doth demand;
She’s scared and she’s thus, contrite.

In upset her family sits,
Still struggling along the blitz
Of terror and pain;
My mom – now insane,
She’s constantly throwing fits…

What else is there left to say?
I only can bow and pray
To He Who Knows All,
I beg, hear my call -
As life turns to shades of gray…

My mother is here, but gone,
Her bright, gleaming eyes now drawn.
As memories fade
No more can be made.
Alas, they are long foregone…
