An empty frame. In a picture gallery? In the world gallery? [The body, too, is a frame].
EMPTY FRAME

I am but an empty frame,
With no picture inside.
Languishing, unseen by all,
I’m not anyone’s pride.

There was a time when I, too,
Was treasured and adorned.
Now I lie in loneliness,
Unattended, unmourned.

Am I gloomy, am I sick?
Am I out of my mind?
No, but I’ve lost interest,
This world I do rescind.

I am now used to my fate,
Sympathy, I don’t need.
Visitors, please move ahead,
Don’t pay me any heed.
