My old friend...my old memory
"Electric-blue? That reminds me of when I was a teen."
"Let me get this straight, they had nail polish back then?"

Even though Ms. Bugzy is only slightly older than me,
Causing her anguish about her age sometimes makes my day!
The thought of her painting bright blue tips on her toes,
Results in a big smile on my face, even though I tease.
"I wonder if you can even bend that far at your age."
Calisthenics and yoga make her twice as limber as me.

Bigger and bigger grows my friends and favorite lists.
Little did I know when I stumbled across her name,
Unusual and a bit funny, that she would make me laugh,
Emotions and sadness come through when we chat and write.

The other day she challenged me to try this prompt.
One of us would write their experiences and the other,
Entirely fabricate a tale attributed to another.
Now this tale is nearly done, another piece written
About a new and dear friend who makes me what I am now.
I weave Bugzy and her friendship, and blue toenails,
Lightly dabbed with a brush into the fabric that is me.

So if someone tells you about the color of their toes,
remember knowing small details make a great friendship.
