ADAM BLACK
Immortal, arrogant and intensely sensual, he is free to roam across time and continents in pursuit of his insatiable desires. That is, until a curse strips him of his immortality and makes him invisible a cruel fate for an irresistible man.

GABRIELLE O’CALLAGHAN
For Gabrielle, cursed with the ability to see both worlds, Mortal and Faery, it is the beginning of a long, dangerous seduction. One she’s willing to fight to the death for.

I was perusing the book isle of my local Wal-Mart and spotted Karen Marie Moning’s re-issued book, “The Immortal Highlander. I will admit I’m a sucker for a good highlander romance; it has to do with the sexy brogue.Karen Marie Moning blended myth and romance together to weave a very exotic and erotic story. She’s taken the legend of the Fae Faeries to a new level and invented the modern day Fae. She makes us believe that they could be living, breathing and walking among us.

In The Immortal Highlander we meet Adam Black, a debunked prince of the Faery world. Having displeased his queen he is sent to earth cursed to walk among the humans until his queen forgives him. Invisible and disgraced he can do nothing but wait, but until then he’ll have some fun making mischief for the humans. Three months down the road he wants his immortality back; he sets out to find any one that can help him, but being invisible is a slight problem that this faerie prince isn’t accustomed to. Being the most sensual and sexual Fae he is accustom to woman dropping at his feet. Imagine his surprise when a devastating beauty can SEE him. No way is he going to let this Sidhe-seer out of his sight; she might be his only ticket home.

Gabrielle O’Callaghan has always had the curse of seeing Fae Faeries and so far has been undetected by them. That is, until Adam Black, gorgeous erotic being strikes her dumb and everything she was taught flies out the window. First, do not make eye contact, duh, a no brainier. And never, ever let them catch you. Since a childhood her grandmother had raised her to believe Fae’s were evil despicable creatures; and if one ever caught her there was no telling what kind of torture they would do.

I enjoyed this story from the beginning to the end. Ms. Moning captures the magick of both worlds giving us two completely different yet compatible characters. Adam is well matched with Gabrielle because she doesn’t do what he expects. She challenges Adam like no fae or mortal has ever before. The thrill of getting to know these characters was such fun and had me laughing at most of their antics. In the end you couldn’t help but root for them and hope the faerie queen comes to her senses.
