Santa gets a surprise gift…
Jolly old Kris thought nothing amiss.
This was his last stop of the night.
What he didn’t know, waiting below,
was a gift that was sure to delight.

As he entered the house, quiet as a mouse,
she was waiting, wearing nothing but a smile.
His eyes went quite wide, that can’t be denied,
as she asked if he could stay for awhile.

“My name is Joan and your kindness is known,
so I thought it was time you’re repaid.”
Her words rang in his head, as she took him to bed,
and they played ‘til he thought he’d need aid.

After their tryst, she did insist,
that he come to the kitchen for dinner.
A full six course meal made him feel
like he was a lottery winner.

His stomach extended, it finally ended
as she slipped five bucks into his hand.
“This had been perfect but I must object!
The money? I don’t understand.”

“I wanted to be nice so I asked for advice
of my husband when we talked on the phone.
Screw him! he said, give him some bread…
but the dinner was my thought alone!”

Notes:  This is based on a story I heard 30 years ago, modified and put to verse.  I hope you enjoyed the retelling.

Thank you for taking the time to read... I'd appreciate it if you'd take a few more seconds and leave a comment *Smile*  Both criticism and "attaboys" are equally welcome.
