Feelings of the first snow.
The snowflakes continues to drift down, from the heaven. First only a few, quietly, softly, dancing, taking forever to reach the ground. They look so fragile, melting as soon as they touch it.
Then, they increase in number, spinning around faster and faster. Like confident when their friends have arrived, they start to conquer the world, soon covering it in white. It looks so beautiful. So small, yet able to take over our world…
I close my eyes and lean against the glass separating my world from theirs. It’s so cold, a reminder of the almost non-existent distance between us. I shiver, but I still don’t move.
I embrace myself and try to keep the warmth.
As I open my eyes and see the reflection in the glass, I return to reality. The snow outside is not real, nothing I should think of. And still, it draws my attention. But once you’ve returned to reality, you can’t shut it out that easily. And especially not…
Class.
As I look down on the book that was so interesting until a few minutes ago, I really feel like I don’t belong here.
In the friendly teasing, loud group of people that I call my classmates? No. But this is my reality.
What is colder than snow? This.
