Story-based 7th Anniversary entry for The Writer's Cramp
Heaven for 7

Mark drummed his fingers impatiently on the Reception Desk's counter as the clerk, Ronald, scanned the reservation list for the previous month.  Mark didn't want to believe that this year's anniversary celebration was showing signs of being ruined right from the start, but Ronald was taking an awfully long time to...

"I've got it, sir!" Ronald exclaimed.  Mark's demeanor immediately relaxed.  "I'm very sorry, sir," Ronald continued.  "We just upgraded our reservation system to AccomodateYou 7.0, and there are occasional problems accessing files older than two months; again, I most sincerely apologize.  As you specified, your suite is Number 7 on the seventh floor; you should have an excellent view of the mountains and our lovely sunsets."

As he handed two card-keys to Mark, Ronald tapped the desk's bell; a bellhop immediately separated himself from the small group awaiting assignment and approached the desk.  "Martin, please assist Mr. and Mrs. Liston with their luggage; they're in 7-7," directed Roland.

"Of course, sir," Martin replied and, turning to Mark, indicated a nearby luggage cart.  "Are those your items, sir?"

"Yes.  If you'll head on up, I'll wait here for my wife.  She should be back any minute."

"As you wish, sir," answered Martin.  He took the cart in tow and disappeared into an elevator.

A few moments later, Mary appeared from the direction of the restaurant, a huge smile on her face.

"Mark!" she exclaimed.  "Did you know that their restaurant serves seven-course meals, and that my favorite entree and dessert are featured items?  This is fabulous!"

Mark smiled back at her.  "What a wonderful coincidence, honey!" he agreed.  Some coincidence, he thought to himself.  He had paid an extra $70.00 to have that menu in place; the look on her face was well worth the expense.  After all, seventh anniversaries don't happen to a couple every day.  Arm in arm, they headed to the elevator and a weekend of joyous celebration.
