This is my poem telling the events of the battle of Cannea between Rome and Hannibal.
The battle of Cannea

Crows flew overhead,
Marching men made the ground crack,
They were going to the land of the dead,
They were planning a blunt attack,
There enemies had threatened their ways,
They were men from Spain, Gaul and Carthage,
Now they would have numbered days.
Giant elephants were ready to charge,
Spears and javelins rained from above,
But the Romans went on as a great red block,
Determined to save what they love,
They fought on as hard as rock,
The enemies began to retreat,
They were about to break,
Romans moved forward weary on their feet,
But Hannibal was a snake,
His men began to circle the other,
Making the Romans surrounded,
Then his men began to smother,
The great red block was completely grounded,
They couldn’t move,
They couldn’t rout,
They had something to prove,
So began a bloody bout,
Carthage hacked and slashed,
Marching over the dead,
The Romans were totally smashed,
In the panic they lost their head,
By the time the day was done,
The crows began to feed,
Feasting on every Roman son,
And so was done this horrid deed.
