May we never feel like a piece of trash...
G A R B A G E . . .

...begins as something useful:
         a toy, food, a person/employee,
         car, home, jewelry.

Once its usefulness/purpose is served,
         wear and tear begin to show --
         degeneration, ill-health, corrosion,
         lacking style, beauty, popularity.

Then disregarded, kicked to the curb --
         with a toss into the dumpster,
         we call it waste.

Except for the grace of God,
         everything ends in the same place.

This piece was written when I was at a rather low point and feeling like a piece of discarded garbage.
