a poem for the victim of an accidental shooting at the age of 17,a close friend
What would life be like
if you were still around
would it be the same
or would different things abound

would you have still gone hunting
on that tragic fateful day
or would you come to a game
and stop to just say "hey"

we know how much you loved
hunting and being outside
but its just so sad
it had to cost your life

we gather when we have to,
when we have to say "goodbye"
we never understand
why people have to die

someone who was so young
so great and full of life
we gather on this day,
in this place, to say goodbye

there are no words to express
the sadness that we feel
being here like this
just seems so unreal

But there is a comfort in knowing
that you're in a better place
no more hurt and pain
just eternal Amazing Grace
