Tears in the Fabric

A tug, gentle but firm,
on an unruly seam
rips a gaping hole
in a cherished dream -
for a second.

Inspecting the damage
with a broader view,
the faults are glaring,
not a stitch runs true!
Am I surprised?

Quilts of Life are sewn
out of Love, affection,
beauty of the whole
bears an untidy section.
It has its place.

Tears in the fabric
can be returned to a whole.
Strength in and recognition
of the Universe's goal
fill my space.
