Within view, yet so far away.
By the moonlight we talked
Into our minds we walked
Never minding the truth that stalked
Like writing on a board without a chalk

For a second I thought she was mine
While I failed to read all the signs
It was all in much due time
That this star would dim it's shine

In its wake a nova took it's place
leaving only memories of her grace
Now by the lake I watch my face
alone in a weary daze

Yet all is fine in this world of mine
It's always good to know you're alive
And though she lingers in my mind
There's always something new to find

It's always hard to discover
A new star in the sea of lovers
Though I thought my search was over
The bright ones tend to have an owner
