This is a poem about war.
They honor our country by fighting the war,
And yet they die more and more.

Today and forever they wait for the killing to stop.
But their friends and comrades still drop.

They wait for the end of their tour,
That will bring them back to their front door.

The letters from home mean so much.
The words graze our soldiers with a gentle touch.

We send them our hugs and kisses,
But the war continues against our wishes.

In history, they will be known
For their brave life's loan.

The War took our troops;our loved ones.
It took husbands, daughters, and sons.

It ravished everything, including our innocent hearts.
Hopefully another war never starts.
