Advice on love verses infatuation. Written to a young daughter.
Delicate Mixing

In the delicate business of mixing hearts
There lies much wisdom in gentle starts
Patience with romantic perception
Need order friendship's conception

Beware the fiery emotional force
For it will surely stray the mutual course
Effecting feelings of run and hide
In the very one we wish to confide

Bringing forth the inner fears
Reminders of wounds and tears
Casting a battle of concerns
One's that only time discerns

Do not hold or form, nor be bold or weak
For when in love, tis time’s true proof you seek
So give that clock upon the wall
The time it needs to do its all
