This is a poem about how I realised mum was right after she passed away.
A battle of wills
I deafened my ears
I would prove you wrong
Your eyes full of tears

Determined to be free
Our bond began to fray
Unmoved, I knew best
And I turned away

You never let go
Your life in decend
I struggled to be free
But you fought, to the end

When your light went out
Snake eyes on the dice
Time stood still
My heart turned to ice

Our love not in question
My soul bereft
So much to say
Only silence was left

I lost my way
Drifting with fate
You did know best
But, I realised too late

I Listen to you now
Your truth and advice
My efforts now
I hope, will suffice

The sorrow in my heart
Full of regret
My lesson learned
I will never forget
