contest entry...
Today I saw myself at twelve
Hidden and in disguise
I watched her from the corner
She had no tears in her eyes
But that doesn’t mean she felt well
Rather, she held in the pain
Of being raped, she took the guilt
Kept it all and went insane
Every breath she took in hurt
No way would she tell
How the police officer invaded her
Ejecting her into hell
Avoiding anyone for fear of shame
Reaching for a dismantled frame
This went on until the day she wrote it down
