written for mom and a contest
Mom

I am nearly 41
Yet I have borrowed
So much from you
So that I can live

I don’t say I love you
I leave you with children
Though all your’s are grown
You still give and give

Sometimes we don’t call
We got about our own lies
You pray and love us
Now matter where we are

Mom, we may forget
And cause you pain
Our children mess your house
But here you are

Your arms still opened wide
A band aide in hand
To cover our skinned hearts
And wipe our tears away

You don’t get mad
You don’t see our faults
So I am taking this chance
Mom, to let you know
I do love you the same today

As I did rocked close
To your heart
Hearing your heart beat
Listening to your song

I have been worried
In my own life
Doing my own thing
I just want you to know

I loved you all along
