Those who simply call names or abuse others, debase themselves.
CALLING NAMES: a sonnet


Some people call others many a name
And think this raises them in others’ eyes.
In doing so they feel not any shame.
Merrily they indulge in their wild cries.

The caravan moves on irrespective
Of dogs that keep on barking so freely.
But they who’re sure of their own perspective
Carry on in their quest relentlessly.

O God, show this kindness to your children
That they may see you in your countless shapes.
Let them not call names but be beholden
To those whom your majesty itself makes.

Lord when I go, let this be said of me:
He was a friend to all, none’s enemy.
