Some memories of the old basement.
Spiders, big, gray, blind
large ragged webs wove
under the cellar stairs.

Mushrooms entwined
around wood for the stove,
under the cellar stairs.

Canning jars confined
a forgotten treasure trove,
under the cellar stairs.

Fearful what I may find,
I avoided that dark cove
under the cellar stairs.
