Poem from the POV of a man, spans over most of his life, starting on his wedding day
After all these years:

Today we’re joined in holy matrimony
And oh, what a grand ceremony!
This is just the beginning of our story.

It’s been ten years,
And there’s still many to come.
Soon, to this world, a child we will welcome.

Now its been twenty
No going back
The love left is plenty
It will never be something which we lack

Ten more years,
Our son is halfway through college.
And suddenly, this fact appears-

For us the end is in sight
Our purpose is served
No reason now to fight
That which is the sum of our fears.

Forty years later,
And the future looks bleak
Every morning when I wake,
I see in your eyes you feel a little more weak.

Now it’s been fifty, after another ten years.
We’ve shared love,
And we’ve shed tears.

And after all these years,
Death has finally done us part.
Now all I can do is wait for the day I join you in death
And lonely no longer is my saddening heart.

That’s it, I cant take it.
I cant live without you.

This is what it comes to.
Sad, yes.
But true.

What time is it?
Noon.
My stomach really hurts…
I’ve taken too many pills…

But I’ll see you soon.
