When they met, it wasn't long before she realized that they both had some healing to do. She had been hurt so many times, maybe he would hurt her too. He lived in his past, so the vision of his present and future were a blur. They were good people who had lived hard lives, but in the end they both deserved good things. She did what was second nature to her, to help them be free of the strong holds that had them bound. She wrote a song. I'm a good woman, you're a good man wouldn't we be good together I'm a good woman, you're a good man shouldn't we be good together All through out my life I know I've been through some things So many heartaches and strife If only I could spread my wings We've been through this before It's evident that you are true I just don't want to hurt no more and most of all I can't lose you So I'm learning the art of forgiveness to let go of my past Can't keep holding on to what's dead get it out of my bed becaused I'm fed up See my future is vibrant and I know that I can go ahead and be free it took God to show me That I've got a good man |
