A tristina I wrote for the TLC contest
She stalks silently, messenger of death.
Darker than black, eyes of sky blue,
Whistling the wind, pricked by roses.

Because hurt brings love, thorns have roses,
Ana promises life, but brings only death,
Pain persisting, visions of blue.

Praising, she beats me black and blue,
Commending everything as poison of roses.
Soon, I take her elixir, and it leads me to death.

Death in the Blue Roses
