If I were that apple!
THE APPLE OF GRAVITY

If I were the apple that
Hit Sir Isaac Newton,
I wish I would hit him on
The feet and not the head!

Feet of a great master are
Truly where I belong;
I would gladly sacrifice
Myself for sake of science.

Just a look at my outside
Brought realization
In his mind that gravity
Pervades the whole cosmos.

I wonder had he cut me
To look at my inside,
What great discovery he might
Make in biology.

I would be proud in the thought,
My life was not in vain.
It made Newton discover
An immortal theory!
