A little poem I worked up in about 15 min. for fun.
He was the patriotic sort,
was taught this from his youth.
When America was threatened,
he was sure it was the truth.

To Afghanistan was sent,
patroling was his duty.
Strolling upon a roadside bomb
which proved to be a beauty.

The bomb blew up and so did he.
It blew his insides all around.
The medics came along just then
and scraped him off the ground.

The doctors stuffed his insides in
and pulled his skin all round.
Now, when he stoops to tie his shoes
he tumbles to the ground.

He does not regret what happened there,
though is was quite a fright.
When asked if he'd go back again,
He repeated "I just might".
