Arocha Aroma

-inspired by a true story

by Chad A. Fisher

EXT. FIRE-PIT (OUT-DOOR) --NIGHT.
The fire is lit and the drums are being rythmically played by some of the Apache adults. The Apache adults and teens, dressed in either their traditional tribal clothing, jeans and t-shirts, or a combination of both, sit on logs conversing in both English and their Native dialects. The mood is light and spirited, and some of the teens laugh together as they talk with one another. Some younger Native children play together in the background around the fire.

Chairman Bernard Barlina

(v.o.) (in Apachean; words subtitled in English)

Each man lives his life, not to prepare for death, but to honor the life he has been gifted. This is a sacred right for all who live upon the sacred lands of the earth; to mark ever major event that occurs throughout one's lifetime.
