“Next please,” summoned the immigration officer.

Shoulders drooping, I approached him, struggling to obliterate depressing memories of a weeping wife and a howling daughter as I bade them farewell. Holidays ended, I had to return to my Gulf job. Alone!

Passport stamped; time to embrace twelve months of separation, loneliness and yearning!

Price of prosperity!
