A poem about an orangutan who thinks she can fly, and a giraffe who says "no".
Once there was an orangutan who thought she could fly,
So she told this giraffe, who was a disbelieving guy.
Other animals thought there was nothing she couldn’t do –
But that just wound up making this mean giraffe stew!

She spoke for hours about her latest flight,
To the other happy animals’ joyous delight.
Then, the orangutan spoke freely with the giraffe,
Who just gave a long-necked, brown-spotted laugh…

Finally, the giraffe said, “How could that be?” –
“Why is it when you fly, I’m never around to see?”
The orangutan replied with a nasty looking frown,
“You see, old buddy, you’re always bringing me down!”

It’s never too late to clear the plate of misconceptions,
But never wage a war against an orangutan’s perceptions.
A flying orangutan would be quite a sight indeed;
A giraffe might want proof, or to know her speed...
