It's all how you look at it -Adam, Eve, snakes- what's not to laugh at? (Form: Quatrains)
Genesis

God smiled down at Adam, created by his hands,
and gave him sole dominion over oceans and the lands.
Adam soon became bored with his exalted station
and petitioned God for someone "just for conversation."

One night while Adam slept, God removed his rib
and created Eve, who turned out to be quite glib.
Now keeping track of one was not too intensive
but keeping track of two made God apprehensive.

He called upon his children and warned them not to stray
and avoid the apple tree or face his great dismay.
Rumor has it that Eve was conned into a mistake
and ate the fruit of knowledge offered by a snake.

Her comprehension spread to Adam, like a strange infection,
and soon both he and Eve learned a new word – "erection."
They learned the joys of masturbation which led them both to sex
and from that moment on we know the meaning of "complex".

God's will had been thwarted. Out of Eden they were thrown
and he added one last punishment: children of their own.
Since Eve was the perpetrator, the first to disobey,
she has a monthly reminder which continues to this day.

The story is still told of how they were forced to roam
and how Eve was to blame. She ate them out of house and home.

An entry for "Invalid Item
Prompt: "A funny things happened on the way too..." My choice: Paradise!

Thank you for taking the time to read my words. I hope you had a smile - or better yet, a laugh *Laugh*. I would appreciate it if you took a minute to leave a comment. Criticism, corrections, or even a well done - all are welcome. Groans for the pun, however, must be kept to yourself *Laugh*
