lamentations of a petty seller
BELLS OF CHANGE

A new day has arrived and my friends begin their skills of sustenance in clothes and shoes touched by life’s sticky fingers

They venture into the world to seek the attention of men

Many steps they take in order that they find the help they desire; desire that can heal the wounds they suffer and change their state from beggars to kings

Nevertheless, it is hard, very hard for it takes only the grace of God to materialise their daydreams into fantastic realities

At times, the going gets tough but it is only a few who get going

For no matter how loud or long they ring the bells

No one seems to bother or ask where the noise comes from

Yet, it is only humane that we respond in a favourable way to these bells of change
