The wind whispers lyrics...

Onyx-Eyed Listeners

Onyx eyes of wild flowers
clad in yellow frill
sway in the morning breeze,
peering across the field
of tall auburn grasses that
twirl like wind dancers –
prancing to and fro,
captured by the humming gusts
rustling through the trees.

The wind whispers lyrics
to the onyx-eyed sunflowers.

Silhouettes, eyes unseen,
bounce upon the waters of the lake,
men fishing, or so it seems.
Their wayfaring vessels
roll and tumble upon waves created by
the winds the wind dancers dance upon
before the onyx-eyed ones.

Through swaying fields,
across the waters, and beyond,
the wind whispers lyrics into
the hearts of listeners.
